California artist Rita Lewis creates high-fire ceramic figurative sculpture and functional pottery. She is inspired by her experience as a female in the world, by Nature and the beauty of small simple shapes and their potential when assembled together to become something entirely different. She creates intricate self-revelatory poetic entities.
She lives and works in San Jose. Her work is in private homes, offices, and the gardens of private collectors.
